{"schemaVersion":3,"id":"CVE-2026-110726","aliases":[],"status":"published","duplicateOf":null,"title":null,"description":"In `api-gateway` versions till `1.7.3`, The default rate-limit key resolver, `ClientIpKeyResolver`, derives the per-client bucket key from the leftmost element of the `X-Forwarded-For` request header. That element is supplied by the originating HTTP client and is not validated against any trusted-proxy list. A single attacker can therefore obtain an unlimited number of independent rate-limit buckets — one per unique header value — and completely bypass the gateway's request-rate limiting on every route that uses the shipped default configuration.","dates":{"published":"2026-10-15T11:58:03.903Z","modified":"2026-10-15T15:30:14.212Z","reserved":null,"kevAdded":[],"kevDue":[]},"cvss":{"headline":{"score":6.5,"severity":"medium","version":"3.1","versionLabel":"v3.1","source":"CVE.org","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","computed":false,"selection":"backend-summary"},"metrics":[{"version":"3.1","versionLabel":"v3.1","source":"CVE.org","score":6.5,"severity":"medium","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","exploitability":null,"impact":null,"computed":false},{"version":"3.1","versionLabel":"v3.1","source":"NVD","score":6.5,"severity":"medium","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","exploitability":null,"impact":null,"computed":false}]},"epss":{"probability":0.00192,"percentile":0.08273,"severity":"low","asOf":"2026-10-18T00:00:00.000Z","change":{"pp":null,"baselineDate":null,"baselineScore":null},"history":[{"date":"2026-10-16T00:00:00.000Z","score":0.00192,"percentile":null},{"date":"2026-10-17T00:00:00.000Z","score":0.00192,"percentile":null},{"date":"2026-10-18T00:00:00.000Z","score":0.00192,"percentile":0.08273}],"last30":[{"date":"2026-10-16T00:00:00.000Z","score":0.00192,"percentile":null},{"date":"2026-10-17T00:00:00.000Z","score":0.00192,"percentile":null},{"date":"2026-10-18T00:00:00.000Z","score":0.00192,"percentile":0.08273}]},"kev":{"state":"not-listed","entries":[],"listedCount":0,"totalCatalogs":3,"catalogs":[{"source":"cisa","label":"CISA","listed":false,"entry":null},{"source":"enisa","label":"ENISA","listed":false,"entry":null},{"source":"circl","label":"CIRCL","listed":false,"entry":null}]},"ransomware":{"state":"none-recorded","sources":[]},"exploits":[],"exploitCount":0,"weaknesses":[{"id":"CWE-348","name":"Use of Less Trusted Source","description":"The product has two different sources of the same data or information, but it uses the source that has less support for verification, is less trusted, or is less resistant to attack.","type":"weakness","status":"Draft","abstraction":"Base","likelihoodOfExploit":null,"url":"https://cwe.mitre.org/data/definitions/348.html"},{"id":"CWE-770","name":"Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling","description":"The product allocates a reusable resource or group of resources on behalf of an actor without imposing any intended restrictions on the size or number of resources that can be allocated.","type":"weakness","status":"Incomplete","abstraction":"Base","likelihoodOfExploit":"High","url":"https://cwe.mitre.org/data/definitions/770.html"},{"id":"CWE-807","name":"Reliance on Untrusted Inputs in a Security Decision","description":"The product uses a protection mechanism that relies on the existence or values of an input, but the input can be modified by an untrusted actor in a way that bypasses the protection mechanism.","type":"weakness","status":"Incomplete","abstraction":"Base","likelihoodOfExploit":"High","url":"https://cwe.mitre.org/data/definitions/807.html"}],"affected":[{"vendor":"eclipse foundation","product":"eclipse connected services platform","name":"Eclipse Connected Services Platform","label":"eclipse connected services platform","ecosystem":null,"cpePart":"a","purl":null,"purlType":null,"versions":[{"text":"≥ 1.5.4, ≤ 1.7.3","noFixRecorded":false,"fixedIn":null}],"versionsText":"≥ 1.5.4, ≤ 1.7.3","eol":null,"hubHref":"/vendor/eclipse_foundation/eclipse_connected_services_platform"}],"affectedCount":1,"eol":{"hasEol":false,"count":0},"references":[{"url":"https://github.com/eclipse-ecsp/api-gateway/pull/330","label":"github.com/eclipse-ecsp/api-gateway/pull/330","hostname":"github.com","tags":[]},{"url":"https://gitlab.eclipse.org/security/cve-assignment/-/work_items/404","label":"gitlab.eclipse.org/security/cve-assignment/-/work_items/404","hostname":"gitlab.eclipse.org","tags":[]},{"url":"https://github.com/eclipse-ecsp/api-gateway/security/advisories/GHSA-ch6x-rg7q-7jfx","label":"github.com/eclipse-ecsp/api-gateway/security/advisories/GHSA-ch6x-rg7q-7jfx","hostname":"github.com","tags":[]}],"lineage":{"upstream":[],"downstream":[],"duplicates":[],"related":[]},"timeline":[{"kind":"published","date":"2026-10-15T11:58:03.903Z","label":"Published","detail":"Vulnerability first disclosed.","source":null},{"kind":"modified","date":"2026-10-15T15:30:14.212Z","label":"Last modified","detail":"Vulnerability information updated.","source":null}],"risk":{"score":26,"level":"medium","profile":"Default","thresholds":{"critical":75,"high":50,"medium":25,"low":10}},"meta":{"dataAsOf":"2026-10-19T08:58:40.551Z","stale":false,"partial":false}}
