This is due to insufficient validation of the widget 'classes' map, allowing a plain-array payload to bypass the is_safe_widget_instance() object check and reach the callable-invocation sink in Element_Classes::parse_array(). This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to execute code on the server. Exploitation requires that the targeted site has comments enabled on tribe_events posts and that at least one comment containing a crafted wp:legacy-widget block has been submitted, as the attack chain is triggered when do_blocks() processes the single-event HTML including the comment area.",null,[11],{"_key":12,"id":12,"name":13,"description":14,"type":15,"status":16,"abstraction":17,"likelihood_of_exploit":18,"capec":19},"CWE-94","Improper Control of Generation of Code ('Code Injection')","The product constructs all or part of a code segment using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the syntax or behavior of the intended code segment.","weakness","Draft","Base","Medium",[20,24,58],{"id":21,"name":22,"techniques":23},"CAPEC-242","Code Injection",[],{"id":25,"name":26,"techniques":27},"CAPEC-35","Leverage Executable Code in Non-Executable Files",[28,39,46],{"id":29,"name":30,"tactics":31,"countermeasures":38},"T1027.006","HTML Smuggling",[32,35],{"id":33,"name":34},"TA0030","Defense Evasion",{"id":36,"name":37},"TA0005","Stealth",[],{"id":40,"name":41,"tactics":42,"countermeasures":45},"T1027.009","Embedded Payloads",[43,44],{"id":33,"name":34},{"id":36,"name":37},[],{"id":47,"name":48,"tactics":49,"countermeasures":52},"T1564.009","Resource Forking",[50,51],{"id":33,"name":34},{"id":36,"name":37},[53],{"id":54,"name":55,"tactic":56},"D3-FFV","File Format Verification",{"name":57},"Isolate",{"id":59,"name":60,"techniques":61},"CAPEC-77","Manipulating User-Controlled Variables",[],[],[],[],[],[],[],"2026-09-12T07:39:15.542Z","Received",{"cisa_kev":71,"cisa_ransomware":71,"cisa_vendor":9,"epss_severity":72,"epss_score":73,"severity":74,"severity_score":75,"severity_version":76,"severity_source":77,"severity_vector":78,"severity_status":69},false,"low",0.00762,"critical",9.8,"v3.1","cve.org","CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H",[80,85,89,93,97,101,105],{"url":81,"sources":82,"tags":84},"https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/vulnerabilities/id/cc2ccfeb-6df6-4fee-96a5-94f8dd131f7c?source=cve",[77,83],"nvd",[],{"url":86,"sources":87,"tags":88},"https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/the-events-calendar/tags/6.17.3/common/src/Tribe/Utils/Element_Classes.php#L211",[77,83],[],{"url":90,"sources":91,"tags":92},"https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/the-events-calendar/tags/6.17.3/src/views/v2/components/messages.php#L30",[77,83],[],{"url":94,"sources":95,"tags":96},"https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/the-events-calendar/tags/6.17.3/src/Tribe/Views/V2/Widgets/Service_Provider.php#L279",[77,83],[],{"url":98,"sources":99,"tags":100},"https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/the-events-calendar/tags/6.17.3/src/Tribe/Views/V2/Template_Bootstrap.php#L214",[77,83],[],{"url":102,"sources":103,"tags":104},"https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/changeset?reponame=&old=3667866%40the-events-calendar&new=3667866%40the-events-calendar",[77,83],[],{"url":106,"sources":107,"tags":108},"https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/changeset?reponame=&old=3667867%40the-events-calendar&new=3667867%40the-events-calendar",[77,83],[],[],{"date":111,"score":73,"percentile":112},"2026-09-12",0.53333,[114],{"date":111,"score":73,"percentile":112},[116,120],{"source":77,"cvss_v2_0":9,"cvss_v3_0":9,"cvss_v3_1":117,"cvss_v4_0":9},{"baseScore":75,"baseSeverity":118,"vectorString":78,"impactScore":75,"exploitabilityScore":119},"CRITICAL",10,{"source":83,"cvss_v2_0":9,"cvss_v3_0":9,"cvss_v3_1":121,"cvss_v4_0":9},{"baseScore":75,"baseSeverity":118,"vectorString":78,"impactScore":75,"exploitabilityScore":119},[123],{"ecosystem":9,"name":124,"vendor":125,"product":126,"cpe_part":127,"purl_type":9,"purl_namespace":9,"purl_name":9,"source":9,"versions":128},"The Events Calendar","stellarwp","the events calendar","a",[129],{"version":130,"is_range":131,"range_type":77,"version_start":9,"version_start_type":9,"version_end":132,"version_end_type":133,"fixed_in":9},"\u003C= 6.17.3",true,"6.17.3","including"]
