After looking into the crafted fuzzed image, I found it's formed with several overlapped big pclusters as below: Ext: logical offset | length : physical offset | length 0: 0.. 16384 | 16384 : 151552.. 167936 | 16384 1: 16384.. 32768 | 16384 : 155648.. 172032 | 16384 2: 32768.. 49152 | 16384 : 537223168.. 537239552 | 16384 ... Here, extent 0/1 are physically overlapped although it's entirely _impossible_ for normal filesystem images generated by mkfs. First, managed folios containing compressed data will be marked as up-to-date and then unlocked immediately (unlike in-place folios) when compressed I/Os are complete. If physical blocks are not submitted in the incremental order, there should be separate BIOs to avoid dependency issues. However, the current code mis-arranges z_erofs_fill_bio_vec() and BIO submission which causes unexpected BIO waits. Second, managed folios will be connected to their own pclusters for efficient inter-queries. However, this is somewhat hard to implement easily if overlapped big pclusters exist. Again, these only appear in fuzzed images so let's simply fall back to temporary short-lived pages for correctness. Additionally, it justifies that referenced managed folios cannot be truncated for now and reverts part of commit 2080ca1ed3e4 (\"erofs: tidy up `struct z_erofs_bvec`\") for simplicity although it shouldn't be any difference.",null,[],[],[],[14],{"_key":15},"CVE-2024-47736",[],[],[],"2024-10-21T13:15:03.737Z","2026-05-02T10:00:39.429632Z",{"cisa_kev":22,"cisa_ransomware":22,"cisa_vendor":9,"epss_severity":9,"epss_score":9,"severity":9,"severity_score":9,"severity_version":9,"severity_source":9,"severity_vector":9,"severity_status":9},false,[24],{"url":25,"sources":26,"tags":28},"https://security-tracker.debian.org/tracker/CVE-2024-47736",[27],"osv_debian",[29],"Advisory",[],[],[33],{"source":27,"cvss_v2_0":9,"cvss_v3_0":9,"cvss_v3_1":34,"cvss_v4_0":9},{"baseScore":35,"baseSeverity":9,"vectorString":36,"impactScore":37,"exploitabilityScore":38},5.5,"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H",6,4.6,[40,58],{"ecosystem":41,"name":42,"vendor":43,"product":42,"cpe_part":9,"purl_type":44,"purl_namespace":43,"purl_name":42,"source":9,"versions":45},"Debian","linux","debian","deb",[46,50,54,57],{"version":47,"is_range":48,"range_type":49,"version_start":9,"version_start_type":9,"version_end":9,"version_end_type":9,"fixed_in":9},"all",true,"ecosystem",{"version":51,"is_range":48,"range_type":49,"version_start":9,"version_start_type":9,"version_end":52,"version_end_type":53,"fixed_in":9},"lt6_1_170_1","6.1.170-1","excluding",{"version":55,"is_range":48,"range_type":49,"version_start":9,"version_start_type":9,"version_end":56,"version_end_type":53,"fixed_in":9},"lt6_11_2_1","6.11.2-1",{"version":55,"is_range":48,"range_type":49,"version_start":9,"version_start_type":9,"version_end":56,"version_end_type":53,"fixed_in":9},{"ecosystem":41,"name":59,"vendor":43,"product":59,"cpe_part":9,"purl_type":44,"purl_namespace":43,"purl_name":59,"source":9,"versions":60},"linux-6.1",[61],{"version":62,"is_range":48,"range_type":49,"version_start":9,"version_start_type":9,"version_end":63,"version_end_type":53,"fixed_in":9},"lt6_1_170_1~deb11u1","6.1.170-1~deb11u1"]
