(CVE-2016-7039)\n\nThe proc_keys_show function in security/keys/proc.c in the Linux kernel\nthrough 4.8.2, when the GNU Compiler Collection (gcc) stack protector is\nenabled, uses an incorrect buffer size for certain timeout data, which\nallows local users to cause a denial of service (stack memory corruption\nand panic) by reading the /proc/keys file (CVE-2016-7042).\n\nThe arcmsr_iop_message_xfer function in drivers/scsi/arcmsr/arcmsr_hba.c\nin the Linux kernel through 4.8.2 does not restrict a certain length\nfield, which allows local users to gain privileges or cause a denial of\nservice (heap-based buffer overflow) via an ARCMSR_MESSAGE_WRITE_WQBUFFER\ncontrol code (CVE-2016-7425).\n\nNull pointer dereference in kvm/emulate.c (CVE-2016-8630).\n\nA buffer overflow vulnerability due to a lack of input filtering of\nincoming fragmented datagrams was found in the IP-over-1394 driver\n[firewire-net] in a fragment handling code in the Linux kernel. A\nmaliciously formed fragment with a respectively large datagram offset\nwould cause a memcpy() past the datagram buffer, which would cause a\nsystem panic or possible arbitrary code execution. The flaw requires\n[firewire-net] module to be loaded and is remotely exploitable from\nconnected firewire devices, but not over a local network (CVE-2016-8633).\n\nFor other fixes in this update, see the referenced changelogs.\n",null,[],[],[],[14,16,18,20,22],{"_key":15},"CVE-2016-7039",{"_key":17},"CVE-2016-7042",{"_key":19},"CVE-2016-7425",{"_key":21},"CVE-2016-8630",{"_key":23},"CVE-2016-8633",[],[],[27,28,29,30,31],{"_key":15},{"_key":17},{"_key":19},{"_key":21},{"_key":23},"2016-12-07T11:48:35Z","2026-04-16T06:24:18.457717674Z",{"cisa_kev":35,"cisa_ransomware":35,"cisa_vendor":9,"epss_severity":9,"epss_score":9,"severity":9,"severity_score":9,"severity_version":9,"severity_source":9,"severity_vector":9,"severity_status":9},false,[37,43,48,53,57,61,65,69],{"url":38,"sources":39,"tags":41},"https://advisories.mageia.org/MGASA-2016-0411.html",[40],"osv_mageia",[42],"Advisory",{"url":44,"sources":45,"tags":46},"https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=19794",[40],[47],"REPORT",{"url":49,"sources":50,"tags":51},"https://cdn.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v4.x/ChangeLog-4.4.27",[40],[47,52],"WEB",{"url":54,"sources":55,"tags":56},"https://cdn.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v4.x/ChangeLog-4.4.28",[40],[47,52],{"url":58,"sources":59,"tags":60},"https://cdn.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v4.x/ChangeLog-4.4.29",[40],[47,52],{"url":62,"sources":63,"tags":64},"https://cdn.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v4.x/ChangeLog-4.4.30",[40],[47,52],{"url":66,"sources":67,"tags":68},"https://cdn.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v4.x/ChangeLog-4.4.31",[40],[47,52],{"url":70,"sources":71,"tags":72},"https://cdn.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v4.x/ChangeLog-4.4.32",[40],[47,52],[],[],[],[77],{"ecosystem":78,"name":79,"vendor":80,"product":79,"cpe_part":9,"purl_type":81,"purl_namespace":80,"purl_name":79,"source":9,"versions":82},"Mageia","kernel-linus","mageia","rpm",[83],{"version":84,"is_range":85,"range_type":86,"version_start":9,"version_start_type":9,"version_end":87,"version_end_type":88,"fixed_in":9},"lt4_4_32_1_mga5",true,"ecosystem","4.4.32-1.mga5","excluding"]
