The L2 guest is able to write to a limited but still\nrelatively large subset of the host physical memory, resulting in a\ncrash of the entire system, leak of sensitive data or potential\nguest-to-host escape (CVE-2021-3653).\n\nA missing validation of the \"virt_ext\" VMCB field and allows a\nmalicious L1 guest to disable both VMLOAD/VMSAVE intercepts and VLS\n(Virtual VMLOAD/VMSAVE) for the L2 guest. Under these circumstances,\nthe L2 guest is able to run VMLOAD/VMSAVE unintercepted, and thus\nread/write portions of the host physical memory, resulting in a\ncrash of the entire system, leak of sensitive data or potential\nguest-to-host escape (CVE-2021-3656).\n\nIn kernel/bpf/hashtab.c in the Linux kernel through 5.13.8, there is\nan integer overflow and out-of-bounds write when many elements are\nplaced in a single bucket (CVE-2021-38166).\n\ndrivers/net/ethernet/xilinx/xilinx_emaclite.c in the Linux kernel before\n5.13.3 makes it easier for attackers to defeat an ASLR protection\nmechanism because it prints a kernel pointer (CVE-2021-38205).\n\nOther fixes in this update:\n- cfi_cmdset_0002: fix crash when erasing/writing AMD cards\n\nFor other upstream fixes, see the referenced changelogs.\n",null,[],[],[],[14,16,18,20,22],{"_key":15},"CVE-2020-3702",{"_key":17},"CVE-2021-3653",{"_key":19},"CVE-2021-3656",{"_key":21},"CVE-2021-38166",{"_key":23},"CVE-2021-38205",[],[],[27,28,29,30,31],{"_key":15},{"_key":17},{"_key":19},{"_key":21},{"_key":23},"2021-08-23T05:28:48Z","2026-04-16T04:24:37.557145Z",{"cisa_kev":35,"cisa_ransomware":35,"cisa_vendor":9,"epss_severity":9,"epss_score":9,"severity":9,"severity_score":9,"severity_version":9,"severity_source":9,"severity_vector":9,"severity_status":9},false,[37,43,48,53,57,61],{"url":38,"sources":39,"tags":41},"https://advisories.mageia.org/MGASA-2021-0409.html",[40],"osv_mageia",[42],"Advisory",{"url":44,"sources":45,"tags":46},"https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=29384",[40],[47],"REPORT",{"url":49,"sources":50,"tags":51},"https://cdn.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v5.x/ChangeLog-5.10.57",[40],[47,52],"WEB",{"url":54,"sources":55,"tags":56},"https://cdn.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v5.x/ChangeLog-5.10.58",[40],[47,52],{"url":58,"sources":59,"tags":60},"https://cdn.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v5.x/ChangeLog-5.10.59",[40],[47,52],{"url":62,"sources":63,"tags":64},"https://cdn.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v5.x/ChangeLog-5.10.60",[40],[47,52],[],[],[],[69,81,87],{"ecosystem":70,"name":71,"vendor":72,"product":71,"cpe_part":9,"purl_type":73,"purl_namespace":72,"purl_name":71,"source":9,"versions":74},"Mageia","kernel","mageia","rpm",[75],{"version":76,"is_range":77,"range_type":78,"version_start":9,"version_start_type":9,"version_end":79,"version_end_type":80,"fixed_in":9},"lt5_10_60_2_mga8",true,"ecosystem","5.10.60-2.mga8","excluding",{"ecosystem":70,"name":82,"vendor":72,"product":82,"cpe_part":9,"purl_type":73,"purl_namespace":72,"purl_name":82,"source":9,"versions":83},"kmod-virtualbox",[84],{"version":85,"is_range":77,"range_type":78,"version_start":9,"version_start_type":9,"version_end":86,"version_end_type":80,"fixed_in":9},"lt6_1_26_1_2_mga8","6.1.26-1.2.mga8",{"ecosystem":70,"name":88,"vendor":72,"product":88,"cpe_part":9,"purl_type":73,"purl_namespace":72,"purl_name":88,"source":9,"versions":89},"kmod-xtables-addons",[90],{"version":91,"is_range":77,"range_type":78,"version_start":9,"version_start_type":9,"version_end":92,"version_end_type":80,"fixed_in":9},"lt3_18_1_20_mga8","3.18-1.20.mga8"]
