The L2 guest is able to write to a limited but still\nrelatively large subset of the host physical memory, resulting in a\ncrash of the entire system, leak of sensitive data or potential\nguest-to-host escape (CVE-2021-3653).\n\nA missing validation of the \"virt_ext\" VMCB field and allows a\nmalicious L1 guest to disable both VMLOAD/VMSAVE intercepts and VLS\n(Virtual VMLOAD/VMSAVE) for the L2 guest. Under these circumstances,\nthe L2 guest is able to run VMLOAD/VMSAVE unintercepted, and thus\nread/write portions of the host physical memory, resulting in a\ncrash of the entire system, leak of sensitive data or potential\nguest-to-host escape (CVE-2021-3656).\n\nIn kernel/bpf/hashtab.c in the Linux kernel through 5.13.8, there is\nan integer overflow and out-of-bounds write when many elements are\nplaced in a single bucket (CVE-2021-38166).\n\ndrivers/net/ethernet/xilinx/xilinx_emaclite.c in the Linux kernel before\n5.13.3 makes it easier for attackers to defeat an ASLR protection\nmechanism because it prints a kernel pointer (CVE-2021-38205).\n\nFor other upstream fixes, see the referenced changelogs.\n",null,[],[],[],[14,16,18,20],{"_key":15},"CVE-2021-3653",{"_key":17},"CVE-2021-3656",{"_key":19},"CVE-2021-38166",{"_key":21},"CVE-2021-38205",[],[],[25,26,27,28],{"_key":15},{"_key":17},{"_key":19},{"_key":21},"2021-08-23T05:28:48Z","2026-04-16T04:24:37.476901Z",{"cisa_kev":32,"cisa_ransomware":32,"cisa_vendor":9,"epss_severity":9,"epss_score":9,"severity":9,"severity_score":9,"severity_version":9,"severity_source":9,"severity_vector":9,"severity_status":9},false,[34,40,45,50,54,58],{"url":35,"sources":36,"tags":38},"https://advisories.mageia.org/MGASA-2021-0410.html",[37],"osv_mageia",[39],"Advisory",{"url":41,"sources":42,"tags":43},"https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=29385",[37],[44],"REPORT",{"url":46,"sources":47,"tags":48},"https://cdn.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v5.x/ChangeLog-5.10.57",[37],[44,49],"WEB",{"url":51,"sources":52,"tags":53},"https://cdn.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v5.x/ChangeLog-5.10.58",[37],[44,49],{"url":55,"sources":56,"tags":57},"https://cdn.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v5.x/ChangeLog-5.10.59",[37],[44,49],{"url":59,"sources":60,"tags":61},"https://cdn.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v5.x/ChangeLog-5.10.60",[37],[44,49],[],[],[],[66],{"ecosystem":67,"name":68,"vendor":69,"product":68,"cpe_part":9,"purl_type":70,"purl_namespace":69,"purl_name":68,"source":9,"versions":71},"Mageia","kernel-linus","mageia","rpm",[72],{"version":73,"is_range":74,"range_type":75,"version_start":9,"version_start_type":9,"version_end":76,"version_end_type":77,"fixed_in":9},"lt5_10_60_1_mga8",true,"ecosystem","5.10.60-1.mga8","excluding"]
