Exploitation beyond crashing the application has not been\nshown to be viable. (CVE-2023-48231)\n\nA floating point exception may occur when calculating the line offset\nfor overlong lines and smooth scrolling is enabled and the cpo-settings\ninclude the 'n' flag. This may happen when a window border is present\nand when the wrapped line continues on the next physical line directly\nin the window border because the 'cpo' setting includes the 'n' flag.\nOnly users with non-default settings are affected and the exception\nshould only result in a crash. (CVE-2023-48232)\n\nIf the count after the :s command is larger than what fits into a\n(signed) long variable, abort with e_value_too_large. Impact is low,\nuser interaction is required and a crash may not even happen in all\nsituations. (CVE-2023-48233)\n\nWhen getting the count for a normal mode z command, it may overflow for\nlarge counts given. Impact is low, user interaction is required and a\ncrash may not even happen in all situations. (CVE-2023-48234)\n\nWhen parsing relative ex addresses one may unintentionally cause an\noverflow. Ironically this happens in the existing overflow check,\nbecause the line number becomes negative and LONG_MAX - lnum will cause\nthe overflow. Impact is low, user interaction is required and a crash\nmay not even happen in all situations. (CVE-2023-48235)\n\nWhen using the z= command, the user may overflow the count with values\nlarger than MAX_INT. Impact is low, user interaction is required and a\ncrash may not even happen in all situations. (CVE-2023-48236)\n\nIn affected versions when shifting lines in operator pending mode and\nusing a very large value, it may be possible to overflow the size of\ninteger. Impact is low, user interaction is required and a crash may not\neven happen in all situations. (CVE-2023-48237)\n\nWhen executing a `:s` command for the very first time and using a\nsub-replace-special atom inside the substitution part, it is possible\nthat the recursive `:s` call causes free-ing of memory which may later\nthen be accessed by the initial `:s` command. The user must\nintentionally execute the payload and the whole process is a bit tricky\nto do since it seems to work only reliably for the very first :s\ncommand. It may also cause a crash of Vim. (CVE-2023-48706)\n\nThe update fixes haproxy configuration paths used for syntax coloration.","dates":{"published":"2023-12-08T10:55:49.000Z","modified":"2026-04-16T04:43:03.294Z","reserved":null,"kevAdded":[],"kevDue":[]},"cvss":{"headline":{"score":null,"severity":"unknown","version":null,"versionLabel":null,"source":null,"vector":null,"computed":false,"selection":"none"},"metrics":[]},"epss":{"probability":null,"percentile":null,"severity":"unknown","asOf":null,"change":{"pp":null,"baselineDate":null,"baselineScore":null},"history":[],"last30":[]},"kev":{"state":"not-listed","entries":[],"listedCount":0,"totalCatalogs":3,"catalogs":[{"source":"cisa","label":"CISA","listed":false,"entry":null},{"source":"enisa","label":"ENISA","listed":false,"entry":null},{"source":"circl","label":"CIRCL","listed":false,"entry":null}]},"ransomware":{"state":"none-recorded","sources":[]},"exploits":[],"exploitCount":0,"weaknesses":[],"affected":[{"vendor":"mageia","product":"vim","name":"vim","label":"vim","ecosystem":"Mageia","cpePart":null,"purl":"pkg:rpm/mageia/vim","purlType":"rpm","versions":[{"text":"< 9.0.2130-2.mga9","noFixRecorded":false,"fixedIn":null}],"versionsText":"< 9.0.2130-2.mga9","eol":null,"hubHref":null}],"affectedCount":1,"eol":{"hasEol":false,"count":0},"references":[{"url":"https://advisories.mageia.org/MGASA-2023-0341.html","label":"advisories.mageia.org/MGASA-2023-0341.html","hostname":"advisories.mageia.org","tags":["Advisory"]},{"url":"https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=32546","label":"bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=32546","hostname":"bugs.mageia.org","tags":["REPORT"]},{"url":"https://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2023/11/16/1","label":"www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2023/11/16/1","hostname":"www.openwall.com","tags":["WEB"]},{"url":"https://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2023/11/22/3","label":"www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2023/11/22/3","hostname":"www.openwall.com","tags":["WEB"]}],"lineage":{"upstream":["CVE-2023-48231","CVE-2023-48232","CVE-2023-48233","CVE-2023-48234","CVE-2023-48235","CVE-2023-48236","CVE-2023-48237","CVE-2023-48706"],"downstream":[],"duplicates":[],"related":[]},"timeline":[{"kind":"published","date":"2023-12-08T10:55:49.000Z","label":"Published","detail":"Vulnerability first disclosed.","source":null},{"kind":"modified","date":"2026-04-16T04:43:03.294Z","label":"Last modified","detail":"Vulnerability information updated.","source":null}],"risk":{"score":0,"level":"minimal","profile":"Default","thresholds":{"critical":75,"high":50,"medium":25,"low":10}},"meta":{"dataAsOf":"2026-10-19T19:37:42.830Z","stale":false,"partial":false}}
