CVE-2011-2533debiandbus+1
EPSS score0.29%
The configure script in D-Bus (aka DBus) 1.2.x before 1.2.28 allows local users to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack on an unspecified file in /tmp/.CVE-2009-1189debiandbus+6EPSS score1.32%
The _dbus_validate_signature_with_reason function (dbus-marshal-validate.c) in D-Bus (aka DBus) before 1.2.14 uses incorrect logic to validate a basic type, which allows remote attackers to spoof a signature via a crafted key. NOTE: this is due to an incorrect fix for CVE-2008-3834.CVE-2019-12749alpinedbus+65EPSS score0.55%
dbus before 1.10.28, 1.12.x before 1.12.16, and 1.13.x before 1.13.12, as used in DBusServer in Canonical Upstart in Ubuntu 14.04 (and in some, less common, uses of dbus-daemon), allows cookie spoofing because of symlink mishandling in the reference implementation of DBUS_COOKIE_SHA1 in the libdbus library. (This only affects the DBUS_COOKIE_SHA1 authentication mechanism.) A malicious client with write access to its own home directory could manipulate a ~/.dbus-keyrings symlink to cause a DBusServer with a different uid to read and write in unintended locations. In the worst case, this could result in the DBusServer reusing a cookie that is known to the malicious client, and treating that cookie as evidence that a subsequent client connection came from an attacker-chosen uid, allowing authentication bypass.CVE-2023-34969debiandbus+48EPSS score1.51%
D-Bus before 1.15.6 sometimes allows unprivileged users to crash dbus-daemon. If a privileged user with control over the dbus-daemon is using the org.freedesktop.DBus.Monitoring interface to monitor message bus traffic, then an unprivileged user with the ability to connect to the same dbus-daemon can cause a dbus-daemon crash under some circumstances via an unreplyable message. When done on the well-known system bus, this is a denial-of-service vulnerability. The fixed versions are 1.12.28, 1.14.8, and 1.15.6.
