CVE-2024-5798github.com/hashicorpvault+2
EPSS score0.34%
Vault and Vault Enterprise did not properly validate the JSON Web Token (JWT) role-bound audience claim when using the Vault JWT auth method. This may have resulted in Vault validating a JWT the audience and role-bound claims do not match, allowing an invalid login to succeed when it should have been rejected.
This vulnerability, CVE-2024-5798, was fixed in Vault and Vault Enterprise 1.17.0, 1.16.3, and 1.15.9CVE-2024-6468chainguardvault-1.16+4EPSS score0.49%
Vault and Vault Enterprise did not properly handle requests originating from unauthorized IP addresses when the TCP listener option, proxy_protocol_behavior, was set to deny_unauthorized. When receiving a request from a source IP address that was not listed in proxy_protocol_authorized_addrs, the Vault API server would shut down and no longer respond to any HTTP requests, potentially resulting in denial of service.
While this bug also affected versions of Vault up to 1.17.1 and 1.16.5, a separate regression in those release series did not allow Vault operators to configure the deny_unauthorized option, thus not allowing the conditions for the denial of service to occur.
Fixed in Vault and Vault Enterprise 1.17.2, 1.16.6, and 1.15.12.CVE-2024-8365chainguardvault-1.16+4EPSS score0.46%
Vault Community Edition and Vault Enterprise experienced a regression where functionality that HMAC’d sensitive headers in the configured audit device, specifically client tokens and token accessors, was removed. This resulted in the plaintext values of client tokens and token accessors being stored in the audit log. This vulnerability, CVE-2024-8365, was fixed in Vault Community Edition and Vault Enterprise 1.17.5 and Vault Enterprise 1.16.9.CVE-2024-8185chainguardvault-1.16+8EPSS score0.48%
Vault Community and Vault Enterprise (“Vault”) clusters using Vault’s Integrated Storage backend are vulnerable to a denial-of-service (DoS) attack through memory exhaustion through a Raft cluster join API endpoint . An attacker may send a large volume of requests to the endpoint which may cause Vault to consume excessive system memory resources, potentially leading to a crash of the underlying system and the Vault process itself.
This vulnerability, CVE-2024-8185, is fixed in Vault Community 1.18.1 and Vault Enterprise 1.18.1, 1.17.8, and 1.16.12.CVE-2026-105816hashicorpvault+1EPSS score0.34%
Vault and Vault Enterprise did not consistently verify that stored plugin catalog entries reference binaries within the configured plugin directory. When Vault uses Shamir seals and has an external plugin directory configured, a privileged operator able to restore an Integrated Storage (Raft) snapshot may be able to execute arbitrary code on the Vault host. This vulnerability (CVE-2026-105816) is fixed in Vault Community Edition 2.1.2, and Vault Enterprise 2.1.2, 1.21.12, 1.20.17, and 1.19.23.CVE-2026-105818hashicorpvault+1EPSS score0.08%
Vault's PKI secrets engine ACME server did not restrict certificate identities that ACME challenges do not validate when issuing certificates under the default directory policy. This may allow an ACME client to obtain a certificate containing unverified identity claims, potentially enabling impersonation toward systems that trust certificates issued by the affected Vault PKI mount. This vulnerability (CVE-2026-105818) is fixed in Vault Community Edition 2.1.2, and Vault Enterprise 2.1.2, 1.21.12, 1.20.17, and 1.19.23.CVE-2026-105820hashicorpvault enterpriseEPSS score0.25%
Vault's ACL policy cache allowed namespace traversal when policy names contained path traversal constructs. This may allow a token assigned specially crafted policy names to use the capabilities of policies defined in other namespaces, including the root namespace. This vulnerability (CVE-2026-105820) is fixed in Vault Enterprise 2.1.2, 1.21.12, 1.20.17, and 1.19.23. Vault Community Edition does not support namespaces, and is not affected.CVE-2026-14886hashicorpvault enterpriseEPSS score0.33%
Vault Enterprise's identity entity batch-delete endpoint is vulnerable to a cross-namespace authorization bypass that may allow an authenticated caller in one namespace to permanently delete the storage backing of entities belonging to another namespace. This vulnerability (CVE-2026-14886) is fixed in Vault Enterprise 2.0.4, 1.21.9, 1.20.14 and 1.19.20.CVE-2026-4525chainguardsplunk-otel-collector+17EPSS score0.59%
If a Vault auth mount is configured to pass through the "Authorization" header, and the "Authorization" header is used to authenticate to Vault, Vault forwarded the Vault token to the auth plugin backend. Fixed in 2.0.0, 1.21.5, 1.20.10, and 1.19.16.CVE-2026-89322hashicorpvault+1EPSS score0.29%
Vault and Vault Enterprise did not consistently evaluate ACL policies against the canonical form of resource and policy names. This may allow an authenticated user with delegated permissions to bypass an explicit deny restriction and access a protected resource or assign a denied policy, potentially leading to privilege escalation. This vulnerability (CVE-2026-89322) is fixed in Vault Community Edition 2.1.2, and Vault Enterprise 2.1.2, 1.21.12, 1.20.17, and 1.19.23.CVE-2026-5006chainguardvault-1.21+2EPSS score0.28%
A vulnerability was identified in HashiCorp Vault and Vault Enterprise (“Vault”) such that an authenticated attacker may manipulate an identity value referenced by a templated policy path to gain unintended access to Vault paths.
An attacker who can control the referenced identity value may include slash ({{/}}) characters that Vault interprets as additional path segments when rendering the policy.
This vulnerability, CVE-2026-5006, was fixed in Vault Community Edition 2.0.4 and Vault Enterprise 2.0.4, 1.21.9, 1.20.14, and 1.19.20.CVE-2026-5051chainguardsplunk-otel-collector+10EPSS score0.38%
HashiCorp Vault and Vault Enterprise prior to 2.0.1 audit device validation logic did not consistently apply plugin directory protections when the legacy file audit path option was used.
This vulnerability (CVE-2026-5051) is fixed in 2.0.1, 1.21.6, 1.20.11, and 1.19.17.CVE-2026-5807chainguardsplunk-otel-collector+17EPSS score0.91%
Vault is vulnerable to a denial-of-service condition where an unauthenticated attacker can repeatedly initiate or cancel root token generation or rekey operations, occupying the single in-progress operation slot. This prevents legitimate operators from completing these workflows. This vulnerability, CVE-2026-5807, is fixed in Vault Community Edition 2.0.0 and Vault Enterprise 2.0.0.CVE-2026-5052chainguardsplunk-otel-collector+17EPSS score0.39%
Vault’s PKI engine’s ACME validation did not reject local targets when issuing http-01 and tls-alpn-01 challenges. This may lead to these requests being sent to local network targets, potentially leading to information disclosure. Fixed in Vault Community Edition 2.0.0 and Vault Enterprise 2.0.0, 1.21.5, 1.20.10, and 1.19.16.CVE-2026-12624chainguardvault-1.21+2EPSS score0.27%
Vault’s ACL policy engine did not consistently enforce a wildcard (glob) deny rule against LIST requests made with a trailing slash on the denied path. This may allow a token holding a broader allow rule alongside a narrower wildcard deny rule to enumerate the names of entries beneath a path it was intended to be denied access to. This vulnerability (CVE-2026-12624) is fixed in Vault Community Edition 2.0.3 and Vault Enterprise 2.0.3, 1.21.8, 1.20.13, and 1.19.19.CVE-2026-3605chainguardsplunk-otel-collector+17EPSS score0.50%
An authenticated user with access to a kvv2 path through a policy containing a glob may be able to delete secrets they were not authorized to read or write, resulting in denial-of-service. This vulnerability did not allow a malicious user to delete secrets across namespaces, nor read any secret data. Fxed in Vault Community Edition 2.0.0 and Vault Enterprise 2.0.0, 1.21.5, 1.20.10, and 1.19.16.CVE-2023-2121chainguardk3d+10EPSS score0.42%
Vault and Vault Enterprise's (Vault) key-value v2 (kv-v2) diff viewer allowed HTML injection into the Vault web UI through key values. This vulnerability, CVE-2023-2121, is fixed in Vault 1.14.0, 1.13.3, 1.12.7, and 1.11.11.CVE-2023-2197hashicorpvault+1EPSS score0.09%
HashiCorp Vault Enterprise 1.13.0 up to 1.13.1 is vulnerable to a padding oracle attack when using an HSM in conjunction with the CKM_AES_CBC_PAD or CKM_AES_CBC encryption mechanisms. An attacker with privileges to modify storage and restart Vault may be able to intercept or modify cipher text in order to derive Vault’s root key. Fixed in 1.13.2CVE-2023-0665chainguardk3d+10EPSS score0.33%
HashiCorp Vault's PKI mount issuer endpoints did not correctly authorize access to remove an issuer or modify issuer metadata, potentially resulting in denial of service of the PKI mount. This bug did not affect public or private key material, trust chains or certificate issuance. Fixed in Vault 1.13.1, 1.12.5, and 1.11.9.CVE-2023-0620chainguardk3d+8EPSS score0.38%
HashiCorp Vault and Vault Enterprise versions 0.8.0 through 1.13.1 are vulnerable to an SQL injection attack when configuring the Microsoft SQL (MSSQL) Database Storage Backend. When configuring the MSSQL plugin through the local, certain parameters are not sanitized when passed to the user-provided MSSQL database. An attacker may modify these parameters to execute a malicious SQL command.
This issue is fixed in versions 1.13.1, 1.12.5, and 1.11.9.
