EPSS score3.63%
Use-after-free vulnerability in SumatraPDF Reader 2.x before 2.2.1 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted PDF file.CVE-2025-57248sumatrapdfreadersumatrapdfEPSS score0.24%
A null pointer dereference vulnerability was discovered in SumatraPDF 3.5.2 during the processing of a crafted .djvu file. When the file is opened, the application crashes inside libmupdf.dll, specifically in the DataPool::has_data() function.CVE-2012-4896sumatrapdfreadersumatrapdfEPSS score5.19%
Heap-based buffer overflow in SumatraPDF before 2.1 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted PDF document, a different vulnerability than CVE-2012-4895.CVE-2012-4895sumatrapdfreadersumatrapdfEPSS score5.19%
Heap-based buffer overflow in SumatraPDF before 2.1 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted PDF document, a different vulnerability than CVE-2012-4896.CVE-2012-5340artifexmupdf+3EPSS score5.73%
SumatraPDF 2.1.1/MuPDF 1.0 allows remote attackers to cause an Integer Overflow in the lex_number() function via a corrupt PDF file.CVE-2009-1605sumatrapdfreadersumatrapdfEPSS score3.45%
Heap-based buffer overflow in the loadexponentialfunc function in mupdf/pdf_function.c in MuPDF in the mupdf-20090223-win32 package, as used in SumatraPDF 0.9.3 and earlier, allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted PDF file. NOTE: some of these details are obtained from third party information.CVE-2009-4117sumatrapdfreadersumatrapdfEPSS score7.78%
Multiple stack-based buffer overflows in pdf_shade4.c in MuPDF before commit 20091125231942, as used in SumatraPDF before 1.0.1, allow remote attackers to cause a denial of service and possibly execute arbitrary code via a /Decode array for certain types of shading that are not properly handled by the (1) pdf_loadtype4shade, (2) pdf_loadtype5shade, (3) pdf_loadtype6shade, and (4) pdf_loadtype7shade functions. NOTE: some of these details are obtained from third party information.CVE-2026-55586sumatrapdfreadersumatrapdfEPSS score0.17%
SumatraPDF is a multi-format reader for Windows. In 3.6.1 and earlier, a crafted CHM file can supply malformed LZX Huffman code lengths to make_decode_table in ext/CHMLib/lzx.c. In the long-code branch, the function writes new internal nodes through next_symbol before validating that the canonical Huffman table has overflowed. The PRETREE case can write beyond the 104-entry PRETREE_table into adjacent heap state in struct LZXstate when reached through chm_open, chm_retrieve_object, LZXdecompress, and BUILD_TABLE. This produces heap memory corruption in the parser process, while arbitrary code execution has not been demonstrated. No fixed version is available as of this review.CVE-2026-26054sumatrapdfreadersumatrapdfEPSS score0.14%
SumatraPDF is a multi-format reader for Windows. Prior to 3.6, the MobiDoc::ParseHeader function in src/MobiDoc.cpp validates a record using kMobiHeaderMinLen but DecodeMobiDocHeader constructs a decoder sized for kMobiHeaderLen without receiving the actual remaining buffer length. A malformed MOBI file can use an attacker-controlled header length to bypass optional-field early returns and cause the decoder to read beyond a short heap buffer. Opening the crafted document can crash SumatraPDF. This issue is fixed in version 3.6.CVE-2026-25961sumatrapdfreadersumatrapdfEPSS score0.48%
SumatraPDF is a multi-format reader for Windows. In 3.5.0 through 3.5.2, SumatraPDF's update mechanism disables TLS hostname verification (INTERNET_FLAG_IGNORE_CERT_CN_INVALID) and executes installers without signature checks. A network attacker with any valid TLS certificate (e.g., Let's Encrypt) can intercept the update check request, inject a malicious installer URL, and achieve arbitrary code execution.CVE-2026-25880sumatrapdfreadersumatrapdfEPSS score0.23%
SumatraPDF is a multi-format reader for Windows. In 3.5.2 and earlier, the PDF reader allows execution of a malicious binary (explorer.exe) located in the same directory as the opened PDF when the user clicks File → “Show in folder”. This behavior leads to arbitrary code execution on the victim’s system with the privileges of the current user, without any warning or user interaction beyond the menu click.CVE-2026-25920sumatrapdfreadersumatrapdfEPSS score0.26%
SumatraPDF is a multi-format reader for Windows. In 3.5.2 and earlier, a heap out-of-bounds read vulnerability exists in SumatraPDF's MOBI HuffDic decompressor. The bounds check in AddCdicData() only validates half the range that DecodeOne() actually accesses. Opening a crafted .mobi file can read nearly (1 << codeLength) bytes beyond the CDIC dictionary buffer, leading to a crash.CVE-2026-107802sumatrapdfreadersumatrapdfEPSS score0.14%
SumatraPDF is a multi-format reader for Windows. In 3.6.1 and earlier, src/SelectionTranslate.cpp embeds selected or pasted translation text in quoted Windows command lines using incomplete quote-only escaping. The affected BuildGrokTranslateCmdLineTemp(), BuildClaudeTranslateCmdLineTemp(), and BuildCodexTranslateCmdLineTemp() functions can allow attacker-controlled text to inject model, working-directory, approval, or sandbox-bypass flags when the corresponding agentic CLI backend is installed and used. No broader impact is claimed beyond the advisory-supported conditions. No fixed version is available as of this review.CVE-2026-107729sumatrapdfreadersumatrapdfEPSS score0.15%
SumatraPDF is a multi-format reader for Windows. In 3.7.0.22298, src/MobiDoc.cpp narrows the untrusted unsigned mobiHdr.hdrLen field to a signed integer for validation; values above INT_MAX become negative and bypass the upper-bound check. When the EXTH flag is set, the original unsigned value is reused as a pointer offset, causing DecodeExthHeader() to read beyond the record buffer. Opening a crafted MOBI file can reliably terminate the application with a native access violation; no code execution, information disclosure, or integrity impact has been demonstrated. No fixed version is available as of this review.CVE-2026-107738sumatrapdfreadersumatrapdfEPSS score0.12%
SumatraPDF is a multi-format reader for Windows. In 3.6.1 and earlier, ChmFile::GetCharZ() narrows file-controlled unsigned string offsets from /#WINDOWS and /#IVB to signed integers without a lower-bound check. An offset that becomes negative can make the function read before the /#STRINGS buffer, causing deterministic application termination. No broader impact is claimed beyond the advisory-supported conditions. No fixed version is available as of this review.CVE-2026-107732sumatrapdfreadersumatrapdfEPSS score0.13%
SumatraPDF is a multi-format reader for Windows. In 3.6.1 and earlier, untrusted document paths and PDF link targets are interpolated into notification text that ParseTip() interprets as trusted tip markup. When a user clicks an injected link, ExecuteTipLink() dispatches its CmdExec command and can execute an attacker-selected local program in the user's context. No broader impact is claimed beyond the advisory-supported conditions. No fixed version is available as of this review.CVE-2026-107733sumatrapdfreadersumatrapdfEPSS score0.11%
SumatraPDF is a multi-format reader for Windows. In 3.6.1 and earlier, FrameOnCommand() handles CmdExec by passing a null current-tab pointer to RunWithExe(), which dereferences WindowTab::filePath. A local process in the same interactive Windows session, at an integrity level greater than or equal to SumatraPDF's under Windows UIPI, can dispatch CmdExec over DDE or WM_COPYDATA while no document tab is open, causing abrupt process termination and loss of unsaved state. No broader impact is claimed beyond the advisory-supported conditions. No fixed version is available as of this review.CVE-2026-107731sumatrapdfreadersumatrapdfEPSS score0.11%
SumatraPDF is a multi-format reader for Windows. In 3.7.0.22298, four independently reachable range-validation variants in src/LitDoc.cpp allow file-controlled offsets and sizes to overflow, narrow to negative values, or wrap before incomplete bounds checks. The affected calculations include contentOffset, the directory expression dirOff64 + dirLen64, and the decoded-section offset + size, along with secondary-header range handling. Opening a crafted LIT file that reaches one of these variants can cause invalid pointer reads and deterministic application termination. No broader impact is claimed beyond the advisory-supported conditions. No fixed version is available as of this review.CVE-2026-107734sumatrapdfreadersumatrapdfEPSS score0.14%
SumatraPDF is a multi-format reader for Windows. In 3.5.2 and earlier, an attacker-controlled SyncTeX source filename is substituted for the %f placeholder in an external editor command line without safe Windows argument quoting, and the resulting command line is passed to CreateProcessW(). A user with an external editor configured or auto-detected who opens a PDF with a crafted .synctex.gz file and invokes inverse search can inject command-line flags; the resulting impact depends on the target editor interpreting those flags and can include unintended editor actions or code execution through a malicious extension. No broader impact is claimed beyond the advisory-supported conditions. No fixed version is available as of this review.CVE-2026-107737sumatrapdfreadersumatrapdfEPSS score0.12%
SumatraPDF is a multi-format reader for Windows. In 3.6.1 and earlier, and in pre-release 3.7.0.20369 when WebView2 is absent or cannot initialize, ParseProtoUrl() accepts the signed host component of an its:// URL and FindHtmlWindowById() uses it directly as an index into gHtmlWindows. Opening a crafted CHM through the IE fallback backend with a negative or otherwise out-of-range window identifier can cause an out-of-bounds pointer read followed by an invalid object callback dereference and process termination. No fixed version is available as of this review.
