Certain WSO2 products allow unrestricted file upload with resultant remote code execution. The attacker must use a /fileupload endpoint with a Content-Disposition directory traversal sequence to reach a directory under the web root, such as a ../../../../repository/deployment/server/webapps directory. This affects WSO2 API Manager 2.2.0 up to 4.0.0, WSO2 Identity Server 5.2.0 up to 5.11.0, WSO2 Identity Server Analytics 5.4.0, 5.4.1, 5.5.0 and 5.6.0, WSO2 Identity Server as Key Manager 5.3.0 up to 5.11.0, WSO2 Enterprise Integrator 6.2.0 up to 6.6.0, WSO2 Open Banking AM 1.4.0 up to 2.0.0 and WSO2 Open Banking KM 1.4.0, up to 2.0.0.CVE-2017-14651wso2api_manager+16EPSS score3.84%
WSO2 Data Analytics Server 3.1.0 has XSS in carbon/resources/add_collection_ajaxprocessor.jsp via the collectionName or parentPath parameter.CVE-2024-2321org.wso2.amam-parent+5EPSS score0.24%
An incorrect authorization vulnerability exists in multiple WSO2 products, allowing protected APIs to be accessed directly using a refresh token instead of the expected access token. Due to improper authorization checks and token mapping, session cookies are not required for API access, potentially enabling unauthorized operations.
Exploitation requires an attacker to obtain a valid refresh token of an admin user. Since refresh tokens generally have a longer expiration time, this could lead to prolonged unauthorized access to API resources, impacting data confidentiality and integrity.CVE-2024-2374wso2api_manager+9EPSS score0.38%
The XML parsers within multiple WSO2 products accept user-supplied XML data without properly configuring to prevent the resolution of external entities. This omission allows malicious actors to craft XML payloads that exploit the parser's behavior, leading to the inclusion of external resources.
By leveraging this vulnerability, an attacker can read confidential files from the file system and access limited HTTP resources reachable by the product. Additionally, the vulnerability can be exploited to perform denial of service attacks by exhausting server resources through recursive entity expansion or fetching large external resources.CVE-2024-1248wso2api_manager+9EPSS score0.30%
The silent Just-In-Time (JIT) provisioning feature in federated authentication implementations fails to properly segregate user roles during account creation when a federated user shares a username with a local user. This allows the provisioning process to overwrite existing roles of local users with roles assigned to the federated user.
Exploitation requires a federated identity provider (IDP) with silent JIT provisioning enabled and an attacker's knowledge of a local user's username. When these conditions are met, a malicious individual can leverage the JIT provisioning process to modify the roles of local users. The overwritten roles are limited to those defined within the federated IDP, typically granting minimal access rights unless explicitly configured otherwise by the federated IDP administrator.CVE-2024-1524wso2api_manager+3EPSS score0.27%
When the "Silent Just-In-Time Provisioning" feature is enabled for a federated identity provider (IDP) there is a risk that a local user store user's information may be replaced during the account provisioning process in cases where federated users share the same username as local users.
There will be no impact on your deployment if any of the preconditions mentioned below are not met. Only when all the preconditions mentioned below are fulfilled could a malicious actor associate a targeted local user account with a federated IDP user account that they control.
The Deployment should have:
-An IDP configured for federated authentication with Silent JIT provisioning enabled.
The malicious actor should have:
-A fresh valid user account in the federated IDP that has not been used earlier.
-Knowledge of the username of a valid user in the local IDP.
-An account at the federated IDP matching the targeted local username.CVE-2024-1440org.wso2.carbon.identity.frameworkorg.wso2.carbon.identity.application.authentication.endpoint.util+9EPSS score0.23%
An open redirection vulnerability exists in multiple WSO2 products due to improper validation of the multi-option URL in the authentication endpoint when multi-option authentication is enabled. A malicious actor can craft a valid link that redirects users to an attacker-controlled site.
By exploiting this vulnerability, an attacker may trick users into visiting a malicious page, enabling phishing attacks to harvest sensitive information or perform other harmful actions.CVE-2024-4598wso2api_manager+3EPSS score0.33%
An information disclosure vulnerability exists in multiple WSO2 products due to improper implementation of the enrich mediator. Authenticated users may be able to view unintended business data from other mediation contexts because the internal state is not properly isolated or cleared between executions.
This vulnerability does not impact user credentials or access tokens but may lead to leakage of sensitive business information handled during message flows.CVE-2024-4867wso2api_manager+1EPSS score0.19%
The WSO2 API Manager developer portal accepts user-supplied input without enforcing expected validation constraints or proper output encoding. This deficiency allows a malicious actor to inject script content that is executed within the context of a user's browser.
By leveraging this cross-site scripting vulnerability, a malicious actor can cause the browser to redirect to a malicious website, make changes to the UI of the web page, or retrieve information from the browser. However, session hijacking is not possible as all session-related sensitive cookies are protected by the httpOnly flag.CVE-2024-7096org.wso2.amam-parent+14EPSS score0.71%
A privilege escalation vulnerability exists in multiple WSO2 products due to a business logic flaw in SOAP admin services. A malicious actor can create a new user with elevated permissions only when all of the following conditions are met:
* SOAP admin services are accessible to the attacker.
* The deployment includes an internally used attribute that is not part of the default WSO2 product configuration.
* At least one custom role exists with non-default permissions.
* The attacker has knowledge of the custom role and the internal attribute used in the deployment.
Exploiting this vulnerability allows malicious actors to assign higher privileges to self-registered users, bypassing intended access control mechanisms.CVE-2024-7097wso2api_manager+12EPSS score0.66%
An incorrect authorization vulnerability exists in multiple WSO2 products due to a flaw in the SOAP admin service, which allows user account creation regardless of the self-registration configuration settings. This vulnerability enables malicious actors to create new user accounts without proper authorization.
Exploitation of this flaw could allow an attacker to create multiple low-privileged user accounts, gaining unauthorized access to the system. Additionally, continuous exploitation could lead to system resource exhaustion through mass user creation.CVE-2024-5962wso2api_manager+3EPSS score0.26%
A reflected cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability exists in the authentication endpoint of multiple WSO2 products due to missing output encoding of user-supplied input. A malicious actor can exploit this vulnerability to inject arbitrary JavaScript into the authentication flow, potentially leading to UI modifications, redirections to malicious websites, or data exfiltration from the browser.
While this issue could allow an attacker to manipulate the user’s browser, session-related sensitive cookies remain protected with the httpOnly flag, preventing session hijacking.CVE-2024-5848wso2api_manager+2EPSS score0.23%
A reflected cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability exists in multiple WSO2 products due to improper input validation. User-supplied data is directly included in server responses from vulnerable service endpoints without proper sanitization or encoding, allowing an attacker to inject malicious JavaScript.
Successful exploitation could lead to UI manipulation, redirection to malicious websites, or data exfiltration from the browser. While session-related sensitive cookies are protected with the httpOnly flag, mitigating session hijacking risks, the impact may vary depending on gateway-level service restrictions.CVE-2024-10302wso2api_control_plane+14EPSS score0.29%
The user self-signup flow in multiple WSO2 products fails to adequately validate user-supplied input. This weakness allows arbitrary unvalidated data to be included within user claims, which are then used by downstream processes.
Allowing unvalidated input into user claims can lead to various security risks. Malicious or malformed data injected during signup could be processed by other parts of the application, potentially enabling attacks such as content manipulation, redirection, user interface inconsistencies, unauthorized actions, and data exposure. The actual impact depends on how the compromised data is consumed and the privileges associated with the affected users.CVE-2024-10242wso2api_manager+1EPSS score0.24%
The authentication endpoint fails to adequately validate user-supplied input before reflecting it back in the response. This allows an attacker to inject malicious script payloads into the input parameters, which are then executed by the victim's browser.
Successful exploitation can enable an attacker to redirect the user's browser to a malicious website, modify the UI of the web page, or retrieve information from the browser. However, the impact is limited as session-related sensitive cookies are protected by the httpOnly flag, preventing session hijacking.CVE-2024-6832wso2api_control_plane+17EPSS score0.41%
The account locking mechanism fails to trigger when secondary user stores are inaccessible. The software does not maintain a consistent state for account locking if it cannot reach all configured user stores, allowing an attacker to repeatedly attempt authentication with invalid credentials without triggering the lockout mechanism for users within active stores.
When the account locking mechanism is bypassed due to the inaccessibility of secondary user stores, users in accessible user stores are left vulnerable to brute force attacks. A malicious actor can exploit this by attempting numerous invalid password combinations against a user account without the expected account lockout consequence.
