CVE-2008-4409xmlsoftlibxml2
EPSS score8.53%
libxml2 2.7.0 and 2.7.1 does not properly handle "predefined entities definitions" in entities, which allows context-dependent attackers to cause a denial of service (memory consumption and application crash), as demonstrated by use of xmllint on a certain XML document, a different vulnerability than CVE-2003-1564 and CVE-2008-3281.CVE-2008-3281appleiphone_os+15EPSS score2.51%
libxml2 2.6.32 and earlier does not properly detect recursion during entity expansion in an attribute value, which allows context-dependent attackers to cause a denial of service (memory and CPU consumption) via a crafted XML document.CVE-2008-3529appleiphone_os+10EPSS score23.37%
Heap-based buffer overflow in the xmlParseAttValueComplex function in parser.c in libxml2 before 2.7.0 allows context-dependent attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) or execute arbitrary code via a long XML entity name.CVE-2022-40304alpinelibxml2+21EPSS score5.81%
An issue was discovered in libxml2 before 2.10.3. Certain invalid XML entity definitions can corrupt a hash table key, potentially leading to subsequent logic errors. In one case, a double-free can be provoked.CVE-2022-40303alpinelibxml2+21EPSS score41.37%
An issue was discovered in libxml2 before 2.10.3. When parsing a multi-gigabyte XML document with the XML_PARSE_HUGE parser option enabled, several integer counters can overflow. This results in an attempt to access an array at a negative 2GB offset, typically leading to a segmentation fault.CVE-2022-29824alpinelibxml2+29EPSS score3.75%
In libxml2 before 2.9.14, several buffer handling functions in buf.c (xmlBuf*) and tree.c (xmlBuffer*) don't check for integer overflows. This can result in out-of-bounds memory writes. Exploitation requires a victim to open a crafted, multi-gigabyte XML file. Other software using libxml2's buffer functions, for example libxslt through 1.1.35, is affected as well.CVE-2022-49043debianlibxml2+56EPSS score0.26%
xmlXIncludeAddNode in xinclude.c in libxml2 before 2.11.0 has a use-after-free.CVE-2022-23308alpinelibxml2+100EPSS score5.12%
valid.c in libxml2 before 2.9.13 has a use-after-free of ID and IDREF attributes.CVE-2012-2871appleiphone_os+3EPSS score2.38%
libxml2 2.9.0-rc1 and earlier, as used in Google Chrome before 21.0.1180.89, does not properly support a cast of an unspecified variable during handling of XSL transforms, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service or possibly have unknown other impact via a crafted document, related to the _xmlNs data structure in include/libxml/tree.h.CVE-2012-0841appleiphone_os+7EPSS score3.26%
libxml2 before 2.8.0 computes hash values without restricting the ability to trigger hash collisions predictably, which allows context-dependent attackers to cause a denial of service (CPU consumption) via crafted XML data.CVE-2012-5134appleiphone_os+8EPSS score4.38%
Heap-based buffer underflow in the xmlParseAttValueComplex function in parser.c in libxml2 2.9.0 and earlier, as used in Google Chrome before 23.0.1271.91 and other products, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service or possibly execute arbitrary code via crafted entities in an XML document.CVE-2011-1944debianlibxml2+2EPSS score13.43%
Integer overflow in xpath.c in libxml2 2.6.x through 2.6.32 and 2.7.x through 2.7.8, and libxml 1.8.16 and earlier, allows context-dependent attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) and possibly execute arbitrary code via a crafted XML file that triggers a heap-based buffer overflow when adding a new namespace node, related to handling of XPath expressions.CVE-2010-4494apacheopenoffice+15EPSS score5.93%
Double free vulnerability in libxml2 2.7.8 and other versions, as used in Google Chrome before 8.0.552.215 and other products, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service or possibly have unspecified other impact via vectors related to XPath handling.CVE-2010-4008apacheopenoffice+15EPSS score2.70%
libxml2 before 2.7.8, as used in Google Chrome before 7.0.517.44, Apple Safari 5.0.2 and earlier, and other products, reads from invalid memory locations during processing of malformed XPath expressions, which allows context-dependent attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash) via a crafted XML document.CVE-2017-16932alpineclamav+4EPSS score6.45%
parser.c in libxml2 before 2.9.5 does not prevent infinite recursion in parameter entities.CVE-2017-16931alpinelibxml2+3EPSS score4.58%
parser.c in libxml2 before 2.9.5 mishandles parameter-entity references because the NEXTL macro calls the xmlParserHandlePEReference function in the case of a '%' character in a DTD name.CVE-2017-9047debianlibxml2+2EPSS score3.19%
A buffer overflow was discovered in libxml2 20904-GITv2.9.4-16-g0741801. The function xmlSnprintfElementContent in valid.c is supposed to recursively dump the element content definition into a char buffer 'buf' of size 'size'. The variable len is assigned strlen(buf). If the content->type is XML_ELEMENT_CONTENT_ELEMENT, then (i) the content->prefix is appended to buf (if it actually fits) whereupon (ii) content->name is written to the buffer. However, the check for whether the content->name actually fits also uses 'len' rather than the updated buffer length strlen(buf). This allows us to write about "size" many bytes beyond the allocated memory. This vulnerability causes programs that use libxml2, such as PHP, to crash.CVE-2017-9050debianlibxml2+3EPSS score4.63%
libxml2 20904-GITv2.9.4-16-g0741801 is vulnerable to a heap-based buffer over-read in the xmlDictAddString function in dict.c. This vulnerability causes programs that use libxml2, such as PHP, to crash. This vulnerability exists because of an incomplete fix for CVE-2016-1839.CVE-2017-9048debianlibxml2+2EPSS score4.85%
libxml2 20904-GITv2.9.4-16-g0741801 is vulnerable to a stack-based buffer overflow. The function xmlSnprintfElementContent in valid.c is supposed to recursively dump the element content definition into a char buffer 'buf' of size 'size'. At the end of the routine, the function may strcat two more characters without checking whether the current strlen(buf) + 2 < size. This vulnerability causes programs that use libxml2, such as PHP, to crash.CVE-2017-9049debianlibxml2+2EPSS score4.63%
libxml2 20904-GITv2.9.4-16-g0741801 is vulnerable to a heap-based buffer over-read in the xmlDictComputeFastKey function in dict.c. This vulnerability causes programs that use libxml2, such as PHP, to crash. This vulnerability exists because of an incomplete fix for libxml2 Bug 759398.
