Description
beego is an open-source web framework for the Go programming language. Versions of beego prior to 2.3.4 use MD5 as a hashing algorithm. MD5 is no longer considered secure against well-funded opponents due to its vulnerability to collision attacks. Version 2.3.4 replaces MD5 with SHA256.

Weaknesses
CWE · root cause- CWE-327Use of a Broken or Risky Cryptographic AlgorithmThe product uses a broken or risky cryptographic algorithm or protocol.
- CWE-328Use of Weak HashThe product uses an algorithm that produces a digest (output value) that does not meet security expectations for a hash function that allows an adversary to reasonably determine the original input (preimage attack), find another input that can produce the same hash (2nd preimage attack), or find multiple inputs that evaluate to the same hash (birthday attack).
Affected systems
Known conditions: network-reachable, no authentication, no user interaction (CVSS vector). Other conditions: not stated in public data.
