Description

Software installed and run as a non-privileged user may conduct GPU system calls to write to arbitrary freed physical pages. Physical memory allocated and freed, without the deferred free mechanism can lead to those resources being used for read/write by the GPU after the kernel module has freed the resource.

At some point afterward, the memory may be allocated again and saved in another pointer, while the original pointer references a location somewhere within the new allocation. Any operations using the original pointer are no longer valid because the memory "belongs" to the code that operates on the new pointer.
