CVE-2024-53988ubunturuby-rails-html-sanitizer+3
EPSS score0.45%
rails-html-sanitizer is responsible for sanitizing HTML fragments in Rails applications. There is a possible XSS vulnerability with certain configurations of Rails::HTML::Sanitizer 1.6.0 when used with Rails >= 7.1.0. A possible XSS vulnerability with certain configurations of Rails::HTML::Sanitizer may allow an attacker to inject content if HTML5 sanitization is enabled and the application developer has overridden the sanitizer's allowed tags where the "math", "mtext", "table", and "style" elements are allowed and either either "mglyph" or "malignmark" are allowed. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.6.1.CVE-2024-53987ubunturuby-rails-html-sanitizer+3EPSS score0.45%

rails-html-sanitizer is responsible for sanitizing HTML fragments in Rails applications. There is a possible XSS vulnerability with certain configurations of Rails::HTML::Sanitizer 1.6.0 when used with Rails >= 7.1.0. A possible XSS vulnerability with certain configurations of Rails::HTML::Sanitizer may allow an attacker to inject content if HTML5 sanitization is enabled and the application developer has overridden the sanitizer's allowed tags for the the "noscript" element. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.6.1.CVE-2024-28103debianrails+27EPSS score0.66%
Action Pack is a framework for handling and responding to web requests. Since 6.1.0, the application configurable Permissions-Policy is only served on responses with an HTML related Content-Type. This vulnerability is fixed in 6.1.7.8, 7.0.8.2, and 7.1.3.3.CVE-2024-32464ubunturails+3EPSS score0.43%
Action Text brings rich text content and editing to Rails. Instances of ActionText::Attachable::ContentAttachment included within a rich_text_area tag could potentially contain unsanitized HTML. This vulnerability is fixed in 7.1.3.4 and 7.2.0.beta2.CVE-2019-5418debianrails+9KEVEPSS score98.51%
There is a File Content Disclosure vulnerability in Action View <5.2.2.1, <5.1.6.2, <5.0.7.2, <4.2.11.1 and v3 where specially crafted accept headers can cause contents of arbitrary files on the target system's filesystem to be exposed.CVE-2019-5419debianrails+9EPSS score8.78%
There is a possible denial of service vulnerability in Action View (Rails) <5.2.2.1, <5.1.6.2, <5.0.7.2, <4.2.11.1 where specially crafted accept headers can cause action view to consume 100% cpu and make the server unresponsive.CVE-2019-5420debianrails+5EPSS score89.33%
A remote code execution vulnerability in development mode Rails <5.2.2.1, <6.0.0.beta3 can allow an attacker to guess the automatically generated development mode secret token. This secret token can be used in combination with other Rails internals to escalate to a remote code execution exploit.CVE-2026-73648chainguardcommercial-gitlab-rails-ee-19.1+47EPSS score0.55%
rails-html-sanitizer is responsible for sanitizing HTML fragments in Rails applications. From 1.0.3 until 1.7.1, Rails::HTML::PermitScrubber restricted SVG reference elements in SVG_ALLOW_LOCAL_HREF only when they used xlink:href, even though browsers also accept the plain href attribute. Applications with non-default allowed tags that included SVG use or feImage elements could therefore permit external references; a same-origin external SVG referenced by use could execute scripts in the sanitized document's context, while feImage could load external images for tracking. Applications using the default allowed tags are not affected. This issue is fixed in version 1.7.1.CVE-2026-66066chainguardgitlab-rails-ce-18.1+22EPSS score27.86%
Action Pack is a framework for handling and responding to web requests. In versions prior to 7.2.3.2, 8.0.5.1 and 8.1.3.1, Active Storage does not disable libvips operations marked unsafe for untrusted content, allowing a crafted upload to invoke such an operation. Consuming applications are affected when configured to use libvips and accept image uploads from untrusted users. An unauthenticated attacker may exploit this behavior to read arbitrary files accessible to the Rails process, including environment variables and application secrets. Exposure of credentials such as secret_key_base or external-service tokens may enable remote code execution or lateral movement. This issue has been fixed in versions 7.2.3.2, 8.0.5.1 and 8.1.3.1.CVE-2026-33167chainguardruby3.2-rails-8.1+5EPSS score0.34%
Action Pack is a Rubygem for building web applications on the Rails framework. In versions on the 8.1 branch prior to 8.1.2.1, the debug exceptions page does not properly escape exception messages. A carefully crafted exception message could inject arbitrary HTML and JavaScript into the page, leading to XSS. This affects applications with detailed exception pages enabled (`config.consider_all_requests_local = true`), which is the default in development. Version 8.1.2.1 contains a patch.CVE-2026-33658chainguardgitlab-rails-ce-18.1+29EPSS score0.43%
Active Storage allows users to attach cloud and local files in Rails applications. Prior to versions 8.1.2.1, 8.0.4.1, and 7.2.3.1
Active Storage's proxy controller does not limit the number of byte ranges in an HTTP Range header. A request with thousands of small ranges causes disproportionate CPU usage compared to a normal request for the same file, possibly resulting in a DoS vulnerability. Versions 8.1.2.1, 8.0.4.1, and 7.2.3.1 contain a patch.CVE-2026-33176chainguardcinc-auditor+37EPSS score0.86%
Active Support is a toolkit of support libraries and Ruby core extensions extracted from the Rails framework. Prior to versions 8.1.2.1, 8.0.4.1, and 7.2.3.1, Active Support number helpers accept strings containing scientific notation (e.g. `1e10000`), which `BigDecimal` expands into extremely large decimal representations. This can cause excessive memory allocation and CPU consumption when the expanded number is formatted, possibly resulting in a DoS vulnerability. Versions 8.1.2.1, 8.0.4.1, and 7.2.3.1 contain a patch.CVE-2026-33169chainguardcinc-auditor+37EPSS score0.66%
Active Support is a toolkit of support libraries and Ruby core extensions extracted from the Rails framework. `NumberToDelimitedConverter` uses a lookahead-based regular expression with `gsub!` to insert thousands delimiters. Prior to versions 8.1.2.1, 8.0.4.1, and 7.2.3.1, the interaction between the repeated lookahead group and `gsub!` can produce quadratic time complexity on long digit strings. Versions 8.1.2.1, 8.0.4.1, and 7.2.3.1 contain a patch.CVE-2026-33168chainguardgitlab-rails-ce-18.1+30EPSS score0.68%
Action View provides conventions and helpers for building web pages with the Rails framework. Prior to versions 8.1.2.1, 8.0.4.1, and 7.2.3.1, when a blank string is used as an HTML attribute name in Action View tag helpers, the attribute escaping is bypassed, producing malformed HTML. A carefully crafted attribute value could then be misinterpreted by the browser as a separate attribute name, possibly leading to XSS. Applications that allow users to specify custom HTML attributes are affected. Versions 8.1.2.1, 8.0.4.1, and 7.2.3.1 contain a patch.CVE-2026-33173chainguardgitlab-rails-ce-18.1+31EPSS score0.40%
Active Storage allows users to attach cloud and local files in Rails applications. Prior to versions 8.1.2.1, 8.0.4.1, and 7.2.3.1, `DirectUploadsController` accepts arbitrary metadata from the client and persists it on the blob. Because internal flags like `identified` and `analyzed` are stored in the same metadata hash, a direct-upload client can set these flags to skip MIME detection and analysis. This allows an attacker to upload arbitrary content while claiming a safe `content_type`, bypassing any validations that rely on Active Storage's automatic content type identification. Versions 8.1.2.1, 8.0.4.1, and 7.2.3.1 contain a patch.CVE-2026-33174chainguardgitlab-rails-ce-18.1+31EPSS score0.62%
Active Storage allows users to attach cloud and local files in Rails applications. Prior to versions 8.1.2.1, 8.0.4.1, and 7.2.3.1, when serving files through Active Storage's proxy delivery mode, the proxy controller loads the entire requested byte range into memory before sending it. A request with a large or unbounded Range header (e.g. `bytes=0-`) could cause the server to allocate memory proportional to the file size, possibly resulting in a DoS vulnerability through memory exhaustion. Versions 8.1.2.1, 8.0.4.1, and 7.2.3.1 contain a patch.CVE-2026-33170chainguardcinc-auditor+37EPSS score0.34%
Active Support is a toolkit of support libraries and Ruby core extensions extracted from the Rails framework. Prior to versions 8.1.2.1, 8.0.4.1, and 7.2.3.1, `SafeBuffer#%` does not propagate the `@html_unsafe` flag to the newly created buffer. If a `SafeBuffer` is mutated in place (e.g. via `gsub!`) and then formatted with `%` using untrusted arguments, the result incorrectly reports `html_safe? == true`, bypassing ERB auto-escaping and possibly leading to XSS. Versions 8.1.2.1, 8.0.4.1, and 7.2.3.1 contain a patch.CVE-2026-33195chainguardgitlab-rails-ce-18.1+31EPSS score0.58%
Active Storage allows users to attach cloud and local files in Rails applications. Prior to versions 8.1.2.1, 8.0.4.1, and 7.2.3.1, Active Storage's `DiskService#path_for` does not validate that the resolved filesystem path remains within the storage root directory. If a blob key containing path traversal sequences (e.g. `../`) is used, it could allow reading, writing, or deleting arbitrary files on the server. Blob keys are expected to be trusted strings, but some applications could be passing user input as keys and would be affected. Versions 8.1.2.1, 8.0.4.1, and 7.2.3.1 contain a patch.
